On season 3 of "So You Think You Can Dance" 1,000s of dancers auditioned for the show from across the country. 3 of the top 20 people where from the state of Utah and Sabra Johnson was voted America's favorite dancer. Also the following year Salt Lake City became one of the major cities for auditioning for So You Think You Can Dance. In 2005 Salt Lake City was selected for the location for the widely successful Disney program "High School Musical" franchise. Julianne Hough, a professional on “Dancing with the Stars,” won back-to-back championships on the show. Her brother Derek Hough joined the pro roaster of "So You Think You Can Dance" and became a two-time champion. Utahns Chelsie Hightower, Allison Holker, Joey Dowling and Randi Evans soon became household names too, thanks to their roles on TV’s popular dance shows. <a href="/about-us/" title="A dancer dancer from Utah"><b>A dancer from Utah</b></a> has been in the 16 finalist for every year of So You Think You Can Dance expect for one year. The Utah Valley University Ballroom Dance Company also one the first ever College Dance Championship with Dancing with the Stars. Though Utah has a population of less then 3 million and California has population of 37 million people; Utah is constantly producing dance talent on all of the major dance programs including: Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, High School Musical, Broadway, New York City Ballet, etc. So why is Utah such a great place for dancers in the dance community?
