The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical's choreographer, James Alsop, walks the walk James Alsop received a surprise request from choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. in 2010 while portraying Eppie Durall in the independent film Leave It on the Floor. He requested her to come up with some movement for a dance scene.
Gatson was so impressed that he suggested Alsop for another opportunity that would change her life: choreographing Beyoncé's "Run the World (Girls)" video, which has amassed more than 500 million views on YouTube alone. Since then, Alsop has worked on projects for Jennifer Lopez, HAIM, and TV shows like "Girls5eva," "Pose," and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Chicago audiences will witness Alsop's choreography for The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical for the first time this summer.
