The Year Without the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular," According to One Rockette
For the last 15 special seasons, Rockette dance chief Danelle Morgan has burned through most days (and evenings!) at Radio City Music Hall, playing out the incredible company's brand name accuracy movement and eye-high kicks in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. This year, obviously, the Rockettes won't get an opportunity to beauty the Great Stage—yet they're keeping bounty occupied until next Christmas, as Morgan told DS in a new discussion.
Dance Spirit: What's it like being in a real sense "home for these special seasons" this year?
Danelle Morgan: Usually, I'd do up to four shows per day at Radio City, in addition to performing at other exceptional occasions. Without precedent for a very long time, I had the option to get into the kitchen and cook on Thanksgiving! As much as I miss the work, there is something so extraordinary about being with friends and family during the special seasons. Ordinarily, I don't generally observe my better half during the Christmas season. This year, he and I are truly getting into the customs that I as a rule wind up doing with my Rockette sisters at the Hall.
