New Ballet at Spring Gala May 4

​On May 4, New York City Ballet will present New Ballet by Christopher Wheeldon.

The David H. Koch Theater will host the Spring Gala of New York City Ballet on May 4. The evening includes The Times Are Racing by Justin Peck (Carousel, West Side Story), two brand-new ballets by Christopher Wheeldon (An American in Paris, MJ the Musical), and Alysa Pires, both of which are having their world premieres. Wheeldon performs his 23rd piece this evening, while Pires makes his New York City Ballet debut as a choreographer.

The gala features the world premiere of Wheeldon's brand-new ballet. He was the first Resident Choreographer for the New York City Ballet, and he is back with a brand-new piece set to Arnold Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht.
