My experience with long-term COVID use has made me more aware of how vulnerable I am as a dancer. I had never thought about how my world would change if the way it functions were different. I thought I was pretty tough, with my young age, agility and health. One day, I couldn't breathe. At least not easy. I became alienated from my body because it couldn't do what I wanted and needed.Let's first back up a bit. Before I developed long-term COVID, I had a subconscious expectation that I would find relief for any suffering I experienced. I have always had the privilege of having access to the world, being a white Jewish girl from Eugene, a small town in Oregon, dealing with occasional religious aggression and family issues, but the world was available to me.
