STREB has announced performances for Time Machine. The forthcoming home season performances of STREB Extreme Action are eagerly anticipated and will feature pieces from one of their most recent creations, Time Machine. Performances promise to feature the exciting achievements that have come to characterize STREB. The schedule is as follows: Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 5pm, and Sundays at 3pm from March 24 through May 21, 2023.
Co-Artistic Director and Choreographer Elizabeth Streb and STREB Extreme Action have been dazzling and frightening audiences for more than 40 years. They are frequently referred to as the Evel Knievel of dance. The Brooklyn lab where Streb and recently hired Co-Artistic Director Cassandre Joseph have been experimenting with a retrospective series of action events will once again be open this spring with the help of their Action Heroes. Many established arts and cultural NGOs reported operational surpluses and record high contributed revenue (i.e., gifts and grants) in 2021, thanks in large part to emergency relief funding and lower expenses while live events were suspended. Those circumstances didn't last very long, though, and today costs are high, earned money from ticket sales is few, touring is still challenging, and budget deficits loom big. Despite the odds, some businesses are succeeding more than ever because of creative alliances.
